Letters from Listeners

We Get Letters

Many people are involved in the receiving and sending of mail around the world. Would you like to be involved? We can always use dedicated Christians who would like to answer letters from people in other countries. Some of these need spiritual advice but most just need encouragement. If interested, call us or email us here at the office. Send to: DrEarl@wfwradio.com

I am very lucky to be travelling to Monaco, from where I am posting this letter to you. It is illegal to listen or to respond to Christian programs here. I was very happy to have the opportunity to write to you about your program, which I listen often to. I am most impressed with your teachings. I record the programs for quiet listening, as I am a Christian who cannot openly reveal that fact. Hope you can understand (written in Arabic).

-Abdul Rahman Ali, MONACO

I am a listener of the English language edition of Word For the World, as transmitted globally on DX Radio Network. I have been a listener for many years. I enjoy the program. While we are trading information, let me give you one of my favourite recipes. It is called Trick Kibbeh, a popular Tunisian dish. 1c Bulgar (fine grade, soaked 1/2 hour in water to cover), 1/4 c flour, 3 tb salt, 1/4 t cinnamon, 1c thinly sliced green onions, 1/4 c finely chopped mint, 1/4 c finely chopped parsley, 9 c chicken stock, 1 c lentils, juice of 3 lemons, 4 garlic cloves, 1/2 c olive oil and 1 lemon.

In bowl, mix bulgar, flour, 1/2 t salt, cinnamon, green onions, mint & parsley. Add enough water to make thick dough. Rolls into 24 very firmly packed balls the size of marbles. Set aside to dry.

Put 9 c chichen stock in pot, add lentils and bring to boil 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer until lentils are tender, 20-25 minutes. Add bulgar balls and boil 5 minutes. Add lemon juice, garlic and oil. Simmer until balls are done, 10 minutes. Garnich with thin lemon slices.

-Abdullah al-Rashman-bin Faudus, TUNISIA

I wish to know more about your program on the radio called Word For the World. I currently do not have any faith practice - I am not a believer in dieties. I just do not think about it much. I am willing to explore the question if you can guide me properly. I will listen to the program and see if you can offer me any hope at all. Sincerely for you.

-An San Fu Qi, MYANMAR

The kingdom has come, and the light which is all diffused, is the presence of the Christ. I feel His presence and kingdom in my life, as you have won my heart over for the Christ. Through your blessed truthful broadcast, I have now accepted Him. Praise be upon you for showing me the truth.

-Fatma Tawfik, LEBANON

I became a member of Christ’s family one month ago. I heard your call to seek a life change and I needed to cast away my gambling and drinking and womanizing and I therefore became open to receiving God into my soul. I still feel tempted to sin but I am stronger against it now.

-Fidel Fonseca, CANARY ISLANDS

Reaching out to your program by choosing to really listen to it has brought a change in my life. As a person who turns on the radio just for background noise, I remember having a moment where I just had to pause and stop what I was doing and just close my eyes. That’s when I realized I was listening to a program talking about Jesus Christ. I have been listening more carefully ever since and am becoming Christian. I almost think the pause was divinely inspired. I will be listening.

-Mahavitthayalai Songkhla Nakarin, THAILAND

I am delirious with excitement in preparing my letter. After more than six months listening to your program, I finally used the information you presented to reach another for Christ. I would never have been able to manage this without your teaching and information. Word For the World definitely changed me as a person and I lead a new life today, now helping others as well as myself.

-Mariana Souglobin, UKRAINE

These are only a sampling of the thousands of letters we receive. Most of our mail goes through a mail clearing house, translated and then printed so we can read them. Upon answering, we then mail the letters to New York where they are then sent to Switzerland for translating and posting. Many of our English speaking listeners mail right to our OHIO address where we rejoice daily for what the Lord is doing.
